Tree swallows were busy squabbling over nesting rights
I surprised this Northern Harrier, it was hiding in some shrubs near the tree swallows - she flew across to other side of the slough and landed, sitting still for a while.
Great Egret flies against a darkening sky, as it did begin to rain while I was there the first afternoon
At the end of my walk through the Refuge, I turned the corner to find two barn swallows perched on a fence, and not in any hurry to fly away.
