Red-necked Grebe, Bodega Bay

A couple of red-necked grebes were actively feeding for awhile this spring in the middle of the Bodega Bay entrance - finally one drifted closer in to do some grooming, and I was able to get some better shots.

Male lesser goldfinch - a small family group was visiting my feeders for a couple of months, but now they have moved on.

Just fledged black-headed grosbeak - the adults brought them over for feeder snacks as soon as they could fly. This was in May.
