I heard a beautiful song that was not familiar, and a bright color high in a tree top - the Bullock's Oriole, the only other one I have seen was near the Feather River, in Chico.

We had some (little) rain last night and early this morning, and so this red-shouldered hawk - out for breakfast I am sure - is looking a little damp, in the Laguna. (below)

Female Western Bluebird Meanwhile, on the Cherryridge property, lots of bluebirds in the middle of nesting, the adults bringing food to their young.
This female with the big worm ended up dropping it after a scrub jay chased her for it, and then the Jay caught it himself as it fell mid-air.
