These Ross Geese are migrating south right now, from the Arctic, but apparently it is unusual to see them this far north; also the Greater white-faced geese, which have flown south from Alaska; I saw both in a flock in Napa, but they have also been seen in smaller numbers at the coast near Bodega Bay. Below, a small flock of ruddy ducks on Bodega Bay, most of the flock were sleeping on the water.

We were coming down Northern central CA and saw a flock of birds in the distance in a wetland, in retrospect think it may have been Ross geese as I saw the black on the wings (unless white pelicans have black on the wings??)
