Super hot day, young birds opening wings for ventilation, waiting for parents to return.
They look very close to fledging, and the intense summer heat should help motivate them to leave the unshaded nest!
Outside the park, ospreys a common sight around the lake. This adult further west of the park.
Clear lake known for its western and clark grebe population. They breed and nest here as well. The two birds look very similar, I think these are western grebes.
