
Heard beautiful bird song in the yard, and found this bird, the song sparrow.
Now I know why it has this name!

Some activity at one of the tree swallow nest boxes.
Small flock of tree swallows was circling, and I now know they make a clicking sound the violet-greens do not seem to make.
Then one of the pairs split off to make a house call.

Here's the quail of the wood pile, he was close by, but I surprised him and he flew up here, but then stayed calm and fluffed up for some reason.

The lesser goldfinches were all in the back orchard feeding on grass seeds, when I mostly see them in the lower orchard.

Seeing a lot more deer in the orchards right now, here is a young, first year buck peering shyly through the tall grasses.
